INTRODUCTION
The main activity of the ISFFL is the organisation of the festival, each year in December. But during the year, the ISFFL has a series of side activities.

The release of dvd's is one of these activities. Besides that, the ISFFL is active as a short film distributor, organises short film screenings for schools whole year long, is active as consultant, advisor and programmer for several events, delivers content for internet- and digital tv-projects and, last but not least, the ISFFL administers the short film database. This online database contains information on all films that were ever screened at the festival (appr. 6.000 titles)
.

SCHOOLS & KIDS
During the Short Film Festival in December there are various screenings for kids of all ages in the regular programme. Special programmes for kids and schools can be compiled on demand. In 2007 over 700 pupils attended school screenings of shorts during the Short Film Festival.

SHORT FILM DISTRIBUTION
The distribution activities of the Short Film Festival consist of digital distribution via the Selected Shorts DVDs and traditional 35mm distribition of De Poetsprins. This distribution is limited to Belgium.

The ISFFL has procured the distribution rights of most of the shorts released on the Selected Shorts DVDs. This digital distribution allows arts centres, cultural centres and festival organizers to screen these films on DVD with little effort and at low cost. 50% of the revenues are remitted to the filmmakers.

In September 2007 the Short Film Festival released De Poetprins (The Pipsqueak Prince) a 35mm compilation of 10 European shorts that were part of the festival's "short film for kids" programmes over the last years and/or shorts that were released on Selected Shorts #4: Short Films for Kids. The film takes 55 min and is therefore ideal for kids (age 3+). De Poetsprins is only available for distribution in Belgium and The Netherlands.

CONSULTANCY AND PROGRAMMING
Being the leading short film festival in Dutch speaking part of Belgium for the last 14 years, the ISFFL has obtained an a lot of short film know how. The festival is also active as programme advisor or programmer for several organisations; arts centers, cultural centres, film festivals in Belgium and abroad a.s.o.

SHORT FILM DATABASE
The short film database contains information on all the films that were screened at the festival in the last 14 years, plus all the films that were submitted but -for various reasons- not selected for competition. The short film database contains information on over 6.000 short films from Belgium and abroad.

ONLINE PROJECTS & DIGITAL TELEVISION

The festival cooporates on regulary basis with broadband internet companies, delivering fine selections of national and international shorts films as broadband content.
The past years the ISFFL worked with the leading internet companies (Telenet, MSN, Belgacom,...).
In 2007-2008 a first digital VOD project was launched (in test phase).
